Okay. So I'm starting a new forum, a Myspace Forum community. I want some insight on what people thing I should do and what I should add and such. I've been trying to get a hold of Layout Artist to feature them on my site hopefully bringing views and members.
The forum is literally brand new as of yesterday I created it with phpbb3 RC 1. I want some help and insight here. I want to make it the best Business experience ever.
I plan on putting ads on there but I still want some insight on how to gain members and just... where to put my money and where to start!!!
I'm not sure what you mean by "MySpace Forum Community" - do you mean a forum for MySpace users - offering support? (That would fill a gap in the market, what with the amount of popup ridden inacessible mess that currently does the job) - or are you looking to make a Myspace style site, what we call a Social Networking Site
We at iVirtua have had similar ideas for such a social network site - covering many specialities. Be aware there are hundereds of competitors (theough Lucas, here at iVirtua is currently planning some very unique ideas similar to yours )... and that your idea might require lots of mods not yet released for phpBB3, and that may not be released for a while - not to mention that unlike with phpBB2, few know the code inside out Noobarmy
In terms of Hosting - you could start with some shared hostin - Like iVirtua did. Bluehost.com is probably your best deal - they are pretty much amazing with 24/7 Live support.

300 Gigabyte Hosting Space (NEW!)
Host UNLIMITED Domains
2,500 POP/Imap Email Accounts
3,000 GIGS of Transfer
SSH (Secure Shell), SSL, FTP, Stats
CGI, Ruby (RoR), Perl, PHP, MySQL
2000/2002/2003 Front Page Extensions
Free Domain Forever!
Free Site Builder
24/7 Superb/Responsive Sales/Support
Start off ad free - again like we did. No ads is attractive to users and ads will make you negligible money and get in the way when your site is new.
Above all, make sure you hav fun and if you're planning on doing most of the work yourself, pick up some valuable skills along the way!
I was thinking more along the lines of myspace help. Because Myspace seems to lack there. Not helping new people with certain things nor are they that good when it comes to support of there members. I just wanted to have a forum where people can go and get help and just a resource of information and products that they can obtain and use at there disposal.
