The only reason I wouldn't settle for X850's is because of their lack of support for HDR rendering and Shader Model 3.0, which all of the latest games support.
What games do you plan on playing with this system?

Mainly Battle for middle earth 2, Black & White 2, Call of duty 2 , AOE3 mainly rts's and some FPS's I dont plan on playing fear or Quake 4 i also want something that will run Warhammer: Mark of Chaos & the new Tom Clancy games also if they come for pc with more than decent settings turned on like HDR, AA, AF and other in game shaders.
oh yeah and pickle give me one good reason to buy a new CPU+MOBO combo for it to be LGA775 over 939

Completely understandable, however, considering just how fast they are (for the price), they are more than worth mentioning. Additionally, my Radeon 9600 XT runs the HDR lighting in Half-Life 2: Lost Coast just fine, let alone my Radeon X800 XL.
For me personally, I'd rather be able to run a game with great eye candy faster than to run a game with fantastic eye candy much slower. F.E.A.R. comes to mind.

1.) Conroe.
2.) Socket 939 is outdated and being replaced by AM2, if you're absolutely going to go AMD, you might as well make it an AM2.
3.) Having the pins on the motherboard is a sound way to protect your investment. You're less likely bend/break the covered pins on a $60-$200 motherboard then you are to bend/break the exposed pins on a $200-$400 CPU.
4.) For what it's worth, stability.

no i wont be ordering through newegg but you can give me linked suggetions through newegg if thats what you were thinking.
The reason I asked was to understand whether or not you will be doing transactions in US dollars or some other currency - we'd be much more able to recommend much more specific system configurations if we knew where you are and who you're buying from.

Conroe will be using LGA775? Well, actually, S939 will be around for at least a year more If you're not confident enough to be messing with a CPU with pins, maybe building your own isn't for you. I've never had a problem with bent pins, other then once, and they bent right back. You're trying to start a flamewar there, by saying that Intel is more stable then AMD.

I agree, but I was pointing out the merits of LGA775 over Socket 939. That is an advantage, be it a minimal one or otherwise.

The question of Intel stability is almost a matter of fact. Intel makes their own chipsets for their own processors -- an Intel chip on an Intel chipset is a recipe for reliability. I suppose AMD is really only truly \"unstable\" as far as the K7's go -- the addition of the memory-controller on-die with the K8 has resulted in much, much improved stability.
Okay you thread jackers that conversation is for the amd or intel forum ;)
Ok so you see there in the my first post for building a new computer $800+ is a bit much i was thinking more like $700-$800 so i was thinking of instead of getting the 7900GT getting the 7600GT.
so im updating my first post. oh yeah and i've decided to upgrade the cpu and ram on my dell then move on to a better computer. also you guys forgot to point out that i didnt have a decent power supply with the older build i posted :P
i think the PSU i chose should have aenough Juice for that setup.

Is that in US or Canadian dollars? Or.... something else entirely?

That makes very little... hell... it makes no financial sense whatsoever. You have a Socket 478 system now, and that socket is effectively dead. There're also few, if any Socket 478 boards willing to accomodate PCI-Express cards. \"Suffer\" through your Celeron for a little longer, come up with some funds and slowly order parts for your new machine.

yup thats USD thats why i said go ahead to reccomend me through newegg or something.
the reason i atleast want to upgrade my cpu is because even if games like Diablo 2 my FPS rate drops 10
in BFME 2 it can be going along just fine at like 25 FPS i select some people without changing anything and now im hanging in like 17 FPS
i want to have atleast 2 decent computers so i can link them up ect...
everything ive ever heard about coolmax was good and i have one running the AthlonXP nvidia quadro2 just fine and before this one the computer would just randomly reboot this coolmax fixed that.
