Though recent concerts like Video Games Live and Play have somewhat mined game music's 8-bit beginnings, generally focusing on Nintendo's original classics, none to our knowledge have yet acknowledged the SID scene still lurking and thriving to this day.
That will change this September, though, when Micromusic Netherlands and ON will host C64 Orchestra, an event celebrating the works of famed bit composers Rob Hubbard and Jeroen Tel. Though full details of the show have yet to be revealed, dedicated blog C64 Music has dug up a video of the orchestra's first rehearsal via the show's website, complete with Hubbard and Tel discussing the ins and outs of composing on limited hardware.
