Intel having 5000MHz Links similar to HTT?

That is some good info on the Intel front. I heard that Intel will be releasing a New CPU Architecture in 2008. Well, my sources are off by a few years according to your friend. But usually CPU’s never come out at there respective dates anyways.

About the 5000MHz Links Intel will be implementing in there new architecture, that would be interesting to see. They may actually give AMD a challenge.

AMD on the other hand is working on a new architecture also. I don’t know much about it, except that it is extremely secretive. AMD & IBM have invented a process of something which will increase there CPU’s performance by up to 70%. In other words, a new Athlon 64 @ 3.00 GHz will perform 70% faster & will feel & perform like a Athlon 64 @ 5.10GHz which in turn will feel like a Pentium 4 Prescott @ 7.00 GHz. There is a press release on this new technique which they invented, but not too many details. But I do hear that it will greatly benefit lower clocked Dual Core Chips.
I’ll look for the link.

Also AMD is looking into increasing there HTT performance & probably having about 8 32-Bit width HTT links running @ CPU Core Frequency. This will surely benefit from that new 70% increase technique explained above. I also heard that these HTT links will be based on a similar 8 way operation like the successful AMD Opterons.

The Future is not to be reckoned with when it comes to technology. This is why it is great to have balance in the Computer industry, or we would all be using P3 800MHz Dell machines.

Ouch, don’t want that.

Here is the Link. And it's 40 to 60% increase
