The Pentium M (Centrino Mobile Tech.) has great battery life & uses very low power. They are good Laptops, but to buy one right now is a waist of money in my Opinion.

The Athlon 64 Mobile is also an amazing choice, do to the future proof of the 64-Bit technology. I mean, when you buy a Laptop, you want it to last a long time, and the 64-Bit solution rings my bell.

AMD is working on a Athlon 64 Mobile chip which should match or beat Intel's Centrino line of CPU's.

We Shall See.

in my opinion...the 64 all the way...but for the normal consumers...centrino is the only way to go...i work at circuit city....and it's so useless trying to explain 64-bit technology to the customers...some haven't even heard of AMD....so even if 64 is better...it's not going to take over the market until intel comes out with it, or amd gets some new ad campaigns going...

Why not type out a great detailed description about Athlon 64 & even give them a link to the AMD Website. Print several of them out, with mild colour(to not waist too much ink) & give them away.

But I know what you mean. Everybody tells me \"Is it a Intel Inside\"

Upsetting you know, hearing that all the time.

AMD needs to do a better job in teaching the industry about 64-Bit technology.

More like AMD needs to better work on their marketing strategy.

It could very well be the new low power notebook from AMD.
AMD is moving all CPU's to S 939, including there mobile line.

If by \"teaching\" you mean \"spreading propaganda\" about, then I suppose so. 64-bit technology shows very little of a performance boost over 32-bit. As This benchmark clearly shows, just about the only thing that significantly benefits from  the 64-bit technology is \"Panorama Factory\" and \"POV-Ray.\"

Pentium M all the way.

I too take on Turion 64 due to the fact that it's a faster chip & great on battery life.

Though for mainstream market, AMD does well, where as business market, the Pentium M does amazing.
