456/1.2 most the time. Some games like half life 2 are more demanding. I play them 242/ 1.16.

Well, I am looking forward to the new R520 Core. It is said that it scors over 10,000 points in 3D Mark 2005 ;)

Bold the said part. ATI says a lot of things, most never come out true. They claim it scores over 10,000, by teh time it is relesed the score will be much lower than that. i am basing this off of previous information like the xeample of the X800xt.

The 7800GTX 512MB will desimate ATI. Running at the same clock speeds and with 8 extra pipelines, the 7800GTX > X1800XT.

The 7800GTX 512MB will be one heck of a card. I doubt it will be worth the price, however.

The 7800GTX 512MB suffers because of it's Price/Performance. It's not worth the money for the performance at all. Heck, even the X1800XT is a little too overpriced. But anyway,

Same system config:

3D Mark 2005 Scores:

24 Pipelines - 7800GTX 256MB = 7850 - Too Slow  :(
24 Pipelines - 7800GTX 512MB = 9650 - Price/Performance
16 Pipelines - X1800XT 512MB = 9000 - New Design & waiting to be unleashed  ;)

So, looking @ this comparison, even with the new 7800GTX 512MB increased speed & even having an extra 8 Pipelines, the X1800XT shows off it's power once again. The scores show it all ;)

Now, can you imagine the X1800XT with 24 Pipes ?!? Yes, they will be hitting @ least 11,000 Points +.

The X1800XT does not have 24 pipelines. If it did, it's price would be obscene like that of hte 7800GTX 512MB.

Ok, he said \"imagine,\" but there is no way to imagine anything in the IT world, since most things turn out unexpected.
