what do you need AMR for?
i remember it came with my Gigabyte - GA7DXR+ B)  board for my socket A XP processor.
i was one of the few to get AMR at the last minute before all manufacters phased AMR out.

AMR is ATI's SLI.

Are we talking about the same thing here?

With AMR  , you have independent 16x PCIE slots at your disposal & you can use 2 absolutely different PCIE cards together. You also don?t need that little circuit board connecting the two Graphic?s Cards.

AMR is said to outperform SLI.
We Shall See. ;)

Oh, I see.
That new ATI chipset should be out the door in a matter of weeks if I am not mistaken. NVIDIA is applying the must needed pressure you know. ;)

Yes, I am getting the new DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D

DFI LANPARTY UT Ultra-D   Exclusive Features!!!

DXG(Dual Xpress Graphics) supported
Karajan Audio(Theater like7.1 /8ch supported)
Dual Gigabit LAN
nVIDIA nVRAID
nVIDIA nTune(embedded overclocking solution)
nVIDIA ActiveArmor
(Embedded hardware firewall & network solution)
nF4 chipset supported Serial ATA(3Gb/s)
100% Japanese Capacitors
UV sensitive slots
EZ-on / EZ-touch onboard switch button
CMOS reloaded?
All New Genie BIOS

It actually performs quite well for being a non SLI with 2 Graphic's Cards compared to SLI. In many games you actually are less than 5 FPS away from the SLI version.

True. The DFI's have had the lowest success rate of any SLI motherboard.

Gigabyte & MSI have had the highest success rate.

People are just finding out about EpoX, so it might take some time.

All I need right now is the ATI Radeon X800 XL. I am still waiting for a second reply by ATI. And if they do not reply by Friday, then I will personally pay them a visit seeing that they are less than 10 minutes away from where I live.

Regarding Chipset Stability Problems, Sander Sassen CEO of HWA has a good say on the matter.

hahaha, when i heard AMR, i was thinking \"AUDIO MODEM RISER\" lol.

that's an awesome deal what ATI is trying to do, because that will push more people to buy ATI if they want convenience and versatility.

i've had only one ATI card and it was a 7000 series with 32MB of ram :woot: , but with the features AMR offers, i might just go back to ATI.

This is why I am going with AMR. It's said that it will be faster than the current SLI due to the fact that both Graphic's Cards will run combined @ 32x.  Wow, now that is fast.

Can ATI pull it off?
