Elder scrolls IV I think is one of the best pc Games around atm. Another good one I've found is Dark Messiah, though it's probably not one of the best, I'd recommend it for those who like to follow a strict quest

Elder Scrolls IV is one of the best looking games out there. If you have the hardware, go for it.
I like most SCUMM games. They're pretty old, but very entertaining.
SCUMM games:
Day of the Tentacle
Sam 'n Max Hit the Road
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

Give them a try.

Talking about PC Games, are there games that are not only entertaining but educational as well, say a steam power plant simulator?

It's not easy to choose between two obvious Game of the Year candidates, but in reality, not everyone can afford to buy every game out there. So we pose the question: If you had to choose, would you buy BioShock or Halo 3? We break each game down into eight categories to see who emerges victorious.

Personally I think...
Halo3 (total package) - Bioshock (total package)
Bioshock Single Player - Halo3 Single Player
Halo3 Multiplayer - Bioshock Nonexistant Multiplayer

Simple, eh?

And, for me its Halo 3 on 360 all the way anyway

Halo 3

BioShock

But hey, read this article:

And vote

Oh my God, Halo 3 in the BEST PC games topic?? What the... Oh well, my ideas are Half-Life, The secret of the Monkey Island (not the first SCUMM game, but it was the most evolved), Doom 2, Quake (for it's online support), Command and Conquer (the orig '95 one) and Grand Prix Legends (the first real simulator in PC history).
