1. try to boot WITHOUT a floppy in the floppy drive or usb stick in an usb-port or cd-rom drive in the cd-rom player
2. If you still get the same message your hard drive may not be connected to your motherboard or vice versa or the power connecter is not connected well.
If you still get the same message repeat step 1 and 2
still doesn't work?
3. reset bios
still doesn't work? change the boot sequency in your bios.
still doesn't work? Do you have ATA hd's? yes, try to change master/slave configuration but i doubt it would do something as you didn't change that before you went on holiday.
I am pretty sure the problem would be fixed after step 1
Explanation: The read-only memory (ROM) containing the BIOS program is protected by a checksum value as a double-check that the ROM code is correct. This checksum is compared against the values in the ROM each time the PC is booted and if there is a mismatch, this code is generated.
Note: This error is not the same as a CMOS Checksum Error, which refers to corrupted values of the CMOS settings, the ones you set through the BIOS setup program. This error means the contents of the BIOS code itself are damaged.
Diagnosis: The BIOS ROM chip on the motherboard is probably faulty. It could also be another component on the motherboard.
this is a very known error. It means it doesn't find the system disk because it is not good connected or the pc tries to start from a different device like usb stick, cd-rom or floppy.
