Hi, my name is Alex and this is my first post on this forums. Let me start by saying that I will be building a custom gaming computer that will be desined to play F.E.A.R., CoD2, and most of all BF2 for a budget of under $1,400 American. I already have hardware plans of my own, but I would like to see what you think I should buy, then I will show you my hardware thoughts and well compare. So if one of you would be kind enough to quickly build a computer to play the games I listed for a budget of $1,400 American that would be great. :D
Oh yeah btw, I will be needing a monitor, keboard, mouse, and speakers.

Total w/o shipping (note: ZipZoomFly offers free shipping on most products) - $1,409.25
As for monitor, you didn't say whether you wanted an LCD or a CRT. I would suggest a CRT considering you can get them for so cheap. I bought a used 22\" for a little under $100. If you want an LCD, something like a Viewsonic VX922 would be good. However, you would have to skimp on some other components. The above configuration should just give you a good idea to start off with. For example, get cheaper speakers and/or use onboard video and that would make room in your budget.

The system KoolDrew suggested there is a great choice, if you're inclined towards Intel. I personally would go with an AMD - powered computer, but that is entirely up to you. If you really need it under $1,400, The thing I would knock down a bit is the sound card. There are other X-tremeMusic cards that are cheaper, and there are also speaker sets that are cheaper. But if you really need great sound, I'd stay with those.

I would not hesitate to recommend the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ or the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400. And acompany either of the above with a solid ATI based chipset. They are amazing IMO.
