PCGEEKS extreme ice water cooling made easy.

AS asked for here is the review and how to make it.

This time I went for more looks and function .

We start with the radically acclaimed

ZALMAN VGA CARD COOLER VF700-CU

http://tinypic.com/e9t07t.jpg

A very good VGA cooler in and of its own but we need better cooling for SLI

Next we take a 3/8 - 7 inch piece of copper tubing and solder it to the top of the VF700.
The fans come of by removing 4 little screws.

http://tinypic.com/e9t0k7.jpg

How to install them I would think is self explanatory and if its not then don?t attempt to do this your just not qualified.

Once installed it should look something like this.

http://tinypic.com/e9t25j.jpg

Now for the tub and pump.

Your going to want a 400 to 500 GPH pond pump submersible

http://tinypic.com/e9t2j9.jpg

Once set up inside the tub you pick we move to something called (ICE BOMBS)

Essentially frozen bottles of water. Cheap and reusable.

Here is basically the temps you can expect from 2 7800 GT OC BFG over clocked to 495 1.23 In SLI.

and that?s how she goes together.

Total parts price $150.00

Will a sealed internal unit be able to offer the same cooling power? NO

Total noise level of this cooling. A whopping 21 db.

Cool, one thing I noticed is the return pipe, it?s a smaller diameter then the flow pipe, would this not restrict the flow and keep the temps up a little?

Do you run this computer 24/7?  I see no way you could with no radiator.

How often do you have to freshen the ice bombs?

Nice. Maybe you should hook it up to an automatic ice maker so you don't have to change the water bottles?

Yea but its just the process of having to refill them and stick them in there that would get me.

I honestly don't see how getting a little extra performance by spending so much time money and effort is going to help.  Its more trouble than its worth.  I play games fine with no troubles at all and I have spent a very small amount of a graphics card than I could have.

Great to do tho if you want to run a movie as a PC game .

yah it seems like to me a huge waste of time refilling it every 3-4hrs...is there any water cooling that requires like minimum care?

Most water-cooling setups only require maitnence every couple of weeks/months.

In case you didn't see... I'm getting this setup as soon as teh parts arrive.

http://blog.gandmcomputers.com/archive/2

Sure thats only the CPU, but you can buy or make VGA coolers.  I am going to add them to my loop soon.

If you want refridgerated, just make a resivior in a mini fridge and put your radiator inside or just before it.  The problem with refridgerated cooling is condensation.  I'm surprised he didn't fry any of his components with his setup.  Must have a dry house.

Also, it seems like a waste to buy one of those high-end heatsinks and kill it.  Why not just get a super cheap, copper base heatsink and mod it?
