Intel has revealed to us today that top new gaming titles, City of Villains from NCSoft, and F.E.A.R. from Vivendi are optimised for dual core processors.

Support will come, apparently, in the full retail release of both these titles. Intel demonstrated the two games on separate systems, one in the showcase area here and one in the digital entertainment keynote speech.

Whilst we haven't been able to get in touch with the developers to confirm the specifics of the support, you can bet that we are beavering away to get confirmation ASAP.

The revelation appears to confirm that Intel is working hard to make sure game developers use dual core chips to the fullest advantage, enabling better physics and AI performance in the game.

The news comes off the back of the announcement yesterday that Dungeon Seige 2 will be optimised to run on Centrino, meaning that routines are optimised to consume less processor power.

Intel is confident, as we reported this morning, that programmers will catch the dual core bug sooner, rather than later, what with consoles also going multi-core too.
