Does anyone plays this game? Include tips and trick etc.. in this thread

I think it's excellent. It's a WWII RTS game, which focusses on D-Day landings in Europe.

Despite the fact that players may only play as the Nazi or the US army (and the campaign is only US), it's not too bad.

It's a bit pathetic that the programmers couldn't programme the British Army though - not a single British soldier is seen on the Normandy landing. And a campaign could have been made for the Eastern front, and the invasion of Berlin by the Russians (no-one ever remembers that it was the Soviets that actually broke through into Germany).

The game is pretty realistic, and allows for many different styles of play - one can command either the powerful Panzer divisions of the Nazi War Machine, or the versatile American troops. I play as the Germans most of the time, because they have some elite troops (and their tanks are awesome).

Here's a tip to spice up the action (for players of the German team). Upgrade about 8 Half-tracks to Walking Stuka versions. This allows them to bombard a location with 6 heavy rockets (not very accurately though). When all fired at once, that's 48 heavy explosives, in a small area. It's bloody awesome.

Great game, one of the best RTS of 06 without a doubt. The destructible environments and beautiful graphics only add to what is some great gameplay. I usually play the Airborn USA, I just think infantry are more fun ^__^

yeah the infantry are fun. squad-based action is definately a strongpoint of CoH.

america's tanks are rubbish, but their rangers more than make up for the lack of sufficient weaponry

Company of Heroes is with out a doubt one of the best RTS games out there along with Dawn of war in my opinion, im currently working on a total war mod, which increases everything (starting reasources, Squad Sizes etc) it removes some of the tactical gameplay but is mainly to make the game more action orientated.

But one thing that annoys me is that it focuses on the Americans in D-Day , which in my opinion is wrong this is what gives the impression that the americans won the war which they didn't, thats why if they bring out an expansion it should be focuses around the british in Africa or something.

yeah they should make it a really big game that allows all nations to be recognised and played as.

Nations like all of those in the British Imperial forces (canada, australia, india etc), and smaller nations in Europe, like Finland, played a significant part in the war.

The lack of more teams might be deliberate - so that expansions can be made. THQ and Relic, as they did with Dawn of War, will probably release two more expansions for the game - perhaps a version for SE Asia with the Japanese and the British/ANZAC forces, or for the Pacific with the US and Japanese forces. Or even for the Eastern front - with the occupation of Berlin by the USSR.

Correction, It wasnt the British Imperial Forces, at the time the british empire had collapsed and it was the british Common wealth and the countries were recognised as independent countries. But if they do an expansion pack i think they should do the Afrika Corps and stuff from around there, or they might move along the timeline to vietnam or the Gulf War.
