The aim is for all 14-year-olds to do the online test in ICT (information and communication technology) from 2008. It is currently being piloted widely.

The statutory Key Stage 3 test in ICT would start in 2008, and schools' results would be published in the league tables.
I personally think as ICT gains in importance it might be more importantly, but what would be tested and how would make the difference and change the validity of it. I really think History say should be a core subject, not IT which is intuitive anyway. I dont think its needed really, and is probably a waste of money
