Richard quick on his blog Web Design Book which accompanies bestseller, Web Design In Easy steps, recently found a section of his book was copied word for word and posted to Daniel Gibbins's site as an artice, in an attempt to gain himself credibility and support his self promoted "Expertise" in the industry. To make matters worse, he is also a "Christian web designer" designing websites for churches. Without quoting obvious lines from the bible, I think it would be reasonable to assume he should "practice what he preaches", especially given his position.
Richard Quick on his own blog wrote:
The original article was written by me and appears on pages 74 and 75 of my book, with the title “Web Design is Product Design”.
Daniel Gibbins claimed that the article was written wholly by himself, and he also claims to be a highly qualified teacher and web design expert on his own site.
Gibins, pictured here, seems to be hot on the paid article sites, and it wouldn't be a surprise to me if many of his other articles are similarly plaigarised.
Here are some of his suspect articles via paid article sites: http://www.articlehub.com/authors/Daniel-Gibbins.html http://www.newveracitynow.com/index.php?page=author &author_name=Daniel%20Gibbins http://ezinearticles.com/?expert_bio=Daniel_Gibbins

"This guy does not deserve to be in business. He’s a fake and a liar."

I was particularly intrigued to find a link to Ezine Articles, an article marketing website, on the page. I followed the link and found that the same person who had stolen my article to use on his own, supposedly Christian, website had also posted various other articles - many of them by me on Ezine Articles..

The person’s name is Daniel Gibbins. He was claiming to be the writer and an “expert” on web design. According to his bio (which can be seen on this article about Daniel Gibbins.
"...downright dishonest"
Richard Quick wrote:
Let me make myself crystal clear on this. Daniel Gibbins is not the copyright holder and does not have permission to use these articles. The articles he’s used are stolen.
Not only that, he’s claiming to be the author and attempting to win clients as a web designer off the back of this “expertise”. As far as I’m concerned, that’s defrauding me personally. I’m the author and it took me a lot of time and hard to work gain any level of expertise I may have. If people are going to be using any web designer off the back of those articles, it should not be him.
Also, he is also putting other people on the wrong side of the law, as they will unknowingly use these articles, without realizing that they’re actually breaking copyright.
"It’s certainly not the level of honesty I’d hope for from a teacher andsomebody who’s putting themselves out there as running a “Christian”business."
The offending article can be seen here: http://www.churchwebsitedesign.org.uk/webdesign.html
He copies content from books on a regular basis, claiming the work to be his own
How ironic, too: Here's "his" article on "Becoming a Search Result on Google" http://ezinearticles.com/?Becoming-a-Search-Result-on-Google&id=527218 Because of this, it is likely his name will become a search result too.
Daniel Gibbins is an experienced business professional who has worked within Retail, Customer Service, Audit and Operations Management. He is the Managing Director of Cortina Web Solutions, a web based Web Design and SEO Consultation business that provides advanced internet business solutions. Daniel is a member of the General Teaching Council of England and holds Qualified Teacher Status in the UK.
Hopefully after this he will lose his status as a qualified teacher after we contact the General Teaching Council of England regarding the matter.
The estimable web designer and writer Richard Quick has had his work stolen by one Daniel Gibbins, so he's mounted a campaign to have his blog exposing the fact rank number one for the shabby cheat Gibbins's name. This post should help out a little.
Rich urges that we do not contact Mr Gibbins, just yet. Have you had any of your work plagiarised in a similar way? Tell us here
