Diablo3.com, previously a URL for a Diablo fan site, has been acquired by Blizzard. Let the speculation commence...
The news has been broken by the fan site itself, which now says it's changed its domain name to Diablofans.com.
Quote:
"Well, there's no point in beating around the bush any longer, so let'sget right down to it. A few months ago we were contacted by Blizzard inregards to the Diablo3.com domain name.
"While theyappreciate all the work that's been put into running this big Diablofan community over the years, they still want the domain name", theprevious owners of Diablo3.com have explained.
Obviously this sets alarms bells ringing that Blizzard is shortly toannounce a sequel in its RPG series. However, the - formerly -Diablo3.com says this: "...while Blizzard is indeed acquiring thediablo3.com domain name, they told me that this shouldn't be consideredan announcement for the Diablo 3 game we've been waiting for all theseyears."
Speculation on when, if and where Diablo 3 will beconfirmed has been doing the rounds for longer than it would take todevelop. Blizzard's remaining tight-lipped though."!
