If the upcoming Disgaea 3on the PlayStation 3 isn't enough for you Nippon Ichi fans, thedeveloper has announced that it will also be bringing the strategy RPGfranchise to the Nintendo DS as well.
According to the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, the DS version will be port of the PS2 original, much like the recentPSP version. The story also revealed two more DS projects that NIS isworking on: Jigsaw World and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. While Rhapsody looks to be a port of the original PS1 RPG, Jigsaw World appears to be a new franchise.
Strategy RPGs tend to be a great fit for handhelds, but we hope that there aren't too many sacrifices made in bringing Disgaeato the DS. A big part of the game was the outstanding voice acting andsoundtrack, so hopefully that stays as intact as possible with thesmaller amount of memory afforded by the DS carts. Stay tuned for arelease date and hopefully an announcement for North America.
