Biggest Australian videogames show expected to attract 20,000 over 3 days

The eGames expo is preparing to open on Friday, with over 50 exhibitors and a host of new and unreleased titles on display.

The event, which takes place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, is the biggest of its kind in Australia, and attracted over 15,000 visitors in its inaugural showing last year.

This year is expected to exceed that, with Crysis and Assassin's Creed headlining those games already out, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and SingStar among those yet to be released.

GamesIndustry.biz wrote:
The event will also feature a number of careers guidance specialists on hand, with representatives from several Australian education institutes ready to answer questions and offer advice on getting into the games industry.

A number of presentations, including keynotes from Nintendo Australia, 2K Australia and Sony, will be held on the main stage on Friday, with other demonstrations taking place over the weekend.

The event opens on Friday November 16 at midday and runs until Sunday, closing at 5pm. All days are open to the general public, with a trade and media focus on the Friday.
