Yes, but Maxtor came very close to the Raptors.

Even though I think the Raptors are super fast, I need more HD space.

humm well i get 275 MB per sec read speed with my raptors i like to see what maxtor is pushing.

Not that much I don't think.

The Raptors are even beating 15,000 RPM External SCSI drives. Raptors are well worth the $$$. :)

Though, I do agree that WD should release new Raptors with more cache.

Yes, it would, but the larger the GB, the slower the drive.
This is why we have 10,000 RPM & 15,000 RPM SCSI drives smaller in size. :)

yep true. but even 2 of the 74 gig on raid 0 is enough space to last.

Do explain.

And when you have 2 74GB Raptors in RAID0, don't you *technically* only have 74GB's of HDD space rather than 74GB*2, right? Oh wait, that's RAID1.

Only problem with RAID0 is if one disk fails, your whole system fails.
