Basically it's a MMORPG that includes many professions and three different breed types. It's VERY involving and has a slightly higher learning curve than your average game. You have the ability to use either melee or ranged weapons and there are several factions you can choose from. The breakdown is easy:
Omni-Tek: If you choose Omni, consider yourself aligned with the \"dark side\". Think of it as the Empire in Star Wars. Omni-Tek is a corporation that is trying to gain hold of it's claim that it owns the world of Rubi-Ka.
Clans: If you go this route, think of yourself as the Rebels trying to wrench the world of Rubi-Ka from the evil hands of Omni-Tek.
Neutral: If you're undecided, go this way. Neither side auto-attacks you and you're free to roam anywhere on the planet. The bonuses here are slight though.
I've been playing it for about a year now and it's a great game if you like sci-fi MMORPGs. Using the free option, you can't use any of the expansion specific items, but the World of Rubi-Ka is huge and there are still many things to do. I'd suggest hitting up the site for a more detailed description.
