Future publishing has announced a partnership with Tesco, the supermarket chain, to launch a new in-store games magazine.
The 24-page magazine "Hot Summer Games", written by Future'sGamesRadar.com team, will be distributed for free in 425 Tesco branchesand with online purchases through the company's entertainment website.
"With the fantastic growth of gaming and the continuing diversity ofthe audience, Tesco wanted to offer our customers a simple guide to thekey games they should be looking for this summer," commented the gamesbuying manager for Tesco, Matthew Cushway.
"Extensive customer research showed an overwhelmingdesire to get more information about games, helping them to make theright choice. The magazine clearly explains what to expect from a gamebut also importantly to highlight who it is appropriate for.
"As a responsible retailer, we are keen to ensure that thecustomer makes an informed choice, making sure parents are made awareof 18-rated games to stop them being purchased for those under thelegal age. Launching this magazine also indicates the strong ambitionsTesco has within the games market."
'Hot Summer Games', and the magazines that follow it, will havean average print run of one million copies, reporting on games for allplatforms.

"Working withthe UK's leading retailer further cements Future's number one positionin the games market."

The24-page magazine will offer customers information on which games to buyacross video game consoles, such as Sony PlayStation 3.
Themagazine will feature a different name each quarter, with the firstedition entitled Hot Summer Games, featuring the likes of Grand TheftAuto IV, Lego Indiana Jones and The Bourne Conspiracy.
HotSummer Games will be available in Tesco stores across the country andwith Tesco online entertainment purchases from 16 June.
