In its first year with a dedicated gaming category, the D&AD (Design & Art Direction awards), founded in 1962 to "champion excellence in creativity" and "build understanding of the contribution of creativity and innovation to business performance", has announced its two winners for the group's top "Yellow Pencil" prize.
Nintendogs took the prize in D&AD's portable gaming category, while Resident Evil 4 was honoured in the console game category, alongside the nominations of Call of Duty 2 and God of War. Previous winners of the Yellow Pencil have included console games such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and a number of other online games in its Interactive and Digital Media category.
