I have assembled my PC but a few problems.

When I turn on the PC, the fans spin and the front lights come on, but the screen is still black and no signs of start-up.  The DVD-ROM drive will also not work.

Help, please?

Any beeping noises? Make sure your video card is properly seated (as well as RAM modules as well).

Yep, definitely sounds like the video card.  Try taking it out and putting it back in.

Yes, you may need to adjust the graphcis to make sure it is seated correctly.

I figured it out. One of the power plugs had came loose.  lol.

Anyway, I have a new problem.  When I go to install Windows XP, it says that no hard drives are detected.  I looked into my motherboard manual, and it says to run in SATA that I need to make an installation disk from the support CD.  I don't have a floppy drive though.  Any ideas on how to do this or how to get around it?

Jumper settings do not apply to SATA drives. Just connect a FDD to your system temporarily, and remove it upon completion.

Add a floppy drive.  Install the drivers to the disk, then when windows starts to install, hit f6 (as soon as you see the initial loading screen).

I got my computer up and running since my last post.  It flys!

Anyway, seems like I am full of trouble, but my motherboard audio does not seem to work.  I reinstalled and updated the drivers for it but nothing.  And I am sure it is the motherboard and not the headphones/speakers.  Any ideas?

Thanks for all the help.

Have you checked the BIOS settings for enabling onboard devices? Make sure the sound card is enabled.
