Many have tried, but it's not yet possible, you may have to wait a month or so for "offical" version of Bootcamp released with Leopard, no doubt that will run Vista and not just XP
i believe it requires a lot of file editing and tweaking and such to work properly. the new release of bootcamp should support it.
i have also heard stories of parallels violating vista's eula, so bootcamp might be the only option now.
As long as you are using the official retail copy of Vista you should be fine. There were incompatibilities with editions predating Vista RC2, but now installing Vista should follow the same steps that you would use with Windows XP.
