As promised, Bungie has begun to reveal details regarding backward compatibility and technical upgrades to Halo and Halo 2 running on XBOX 360.
Rounding up the first installment is news and comparison screenshots of the two original games running in the 360's HD mode, with the hardware's default full-screen anti-aliasing (pictured). While, as expected, Bungie will not be releasing higher resolution texture packs or remodeled geometry for the games, the upgrade does do a fair bit for the fidelity of the originals, though the full impact of the comparison may be lessened by Bungie's inability to take direct frame buffer screenshots from the 360. The company also proudly notes that split-screen multiplayer benefits from the enhancement with wider visible areas for all players involved.
