Okay, I just found somethign quite shocking, to me anyways. Intel has released a Intel P4 Dual Core 2.66 GHZ with 2 x 1MB Cache at 179$ CAD! http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...nufacture=Intel Should I still go with the 64, or with the P4, since it already has the 64bit support.
Wait, so how many things can I overclock on the CPU? Frequency, HTT, and now FSB? Oy Vey....
As I said before, the CPU clock is determined by the HTT * multiplier. Just think of FSB as another name for HTT as when people say FSB that is what they are fering too. Frequency would just be like clock speed.
Quote:
you overclock the frequency by working with the FSB and the multiplier.
We are talking about socket 939. Calling it FSB is a misnomer.
EDIT - Stick with AMD. At 2.6GHz that CPU will lag behind a great deal in single-threaded tasks.
