This is like 5 years old.

Also, I hope nobody uses this as evidence as why one is better then the other. They aree showing older AMD cores, any newer core will automatically shutdown before anything is damamged.

It should only be looked at as entertainment.

It is true that AMD used to be notorious for hot CPU's, but with the new line of LGA775's and Athlon 64's, the role has been reversed. Intel runs pretty hot...AMD cool.

I just thought it was funny. I didn't do it to make AMD look bad.  I hate Intel and besides the ones I have now, will never buy another Intel powered machine.

I liked how the 2ghz P4 kept right on chuggin' and could still compute things with that little of surface area.

Yeah, seen it before.  But it's always cool (pun intended) to see it again.

Do the 64bit Architecture CPU's run as hot as the AthlonXP cores?

what about Dual Cores?

I'm still running an AthlonXP 1800+, and I'd like to upgrade, but I haven't really kept up to speed on the new cores.

I'd like to see this done with an Athlon64 more than an old Athlon1400 to be honest.

Check this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=53...q=exploding+cpu

That was nifty.

I've never seen a cpu actually explode before until now.
