I'd like to see this done with an Athlon64 more than an old Athlon1400 to be honest.
Check this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=53...q=exploding+cpu

It's a fake.  I can promise you.  The blow-hole was too nicely cut.

The reason it is fake is because:

1) They overclock an AMD Duron to 4GHz on AIR
2) The fan on the heatsink isn't even on....so there's no possible chance ever that it can reach 4GHz
3) The processor wouldn't blow a hole in a 2 inch wooden table.

You guys are probably right.  They probably pre-cut the hole and had a firecracker or something taped inside the hole to make the cpu pop out like that.

I noticed that the fan wasn't on myself and it seemed strange to me that a cpu could run at 4ghz without any movement of air.  But like Predator said, could air even cool an extremely OC'ed cpu?

I'd think at the very least you'd need a good water cooling system.

none the less it was cool fake or not. your probably right, OCing heats up the processor to much for a simple air cooling, you need water.

heh fry an egg defintly make a video for that i wanna see it.

Don't  waste a 900mhz system on that! I hate it when people pronounce computers \"broken\" just because they need a reformat or fresh operating system install >_>

Well, then what qualifies for 'broken'?  I think if it doesn't work, it's broken.  Yes, it can be fixed, but that doesn't change the fact that it's broken.

\"Broken\" in my eyes is when something is no longer usable and very hard to repair.

i think broken is not working at the time of saying broken but if it can be fixed and is not working at the moment i still think its broken
