Yes, but no one is doing anything about it If for example in the US a huge scheme was launched to put solar panels on every roof allong with a wind turbine maybe the world would be a better place. It's the governments that need to make a decision and Gordon Brown and George Bush can't even think so I don't think the future is looking very good climate wise.
Yes, global warming is hapening. But people don't seem to realize that the entire solar system is warming. The sun is getting more violent and warming everything. This as happened before. In fact, the entire earth, at one point, was like the surface of Venus. And then guess what happened. We cooled back downl In fact, we froze into an ice age. And then it happend again. And again. And continued. The problem with this 'green' trend is the people that don't read all the facts, and only the ones an ridiculously stupid ex vice president spits out to get famous again.
I heard the other day that global warming has in fact prevented a second ice age - we should be in an ice age now. Global warming has been occurring since before the industrial revolution - deforestation in early ages signalled the start.
N.B. Im not sure how reliable the above information is - i heard it off someone else.
I think that global warming is occuring - just that certain nations may not be able to tell the extent. There are certainly many climatic changes occurring - the number of hurricanes found near the USA are increasing.
I think that global warming is something that needs to be solved from the top down. That is to say, the Governments should be taking the first step (not necessarily the people) in solving the problem. Government policies should restrict the emittence of greenhouse gases from industries as a whole - a single conventional power plant, for example, produces far more greenhouse gases than a whole town combined. Furthermore, deforestion should be restricted. Governments are not doing enough to solve the problem, because they give the primary and secondary economic sectors far too much freedom to harm the environment.
