Invalid, unfounded and unprofessional revenue orientated crap is what increasing numbers of people think when reading the speculation of supposedly valid "tech bloggers", "new media experts" and "web 2.0 forecasters", who seem to have an air of self indulgance, ignorance and sheer arrogance toying with their their self assigned "celebrity" status.

Most notably, Robert Scoble, is a shining example.

"One reason I read so many blog feeds is so I can see trends and business opportunities before anyone else does."

Relentless ego-blogger Robert Scoble, whose latest forecast -- businesses must embrace Twitter or die -- is sure to prove as prescient as his past calls for CEO blogs, Second Life, and Tablet PCs.

Note also the prevalance of the word I in his postings as opposed to referencing others.

Look at his views on "Google Android" the new phone OS... he even has too use capitals too reinforce his points.

The only reason Robert Scoble uses twitter and facebook is not to participate in the community but too use it for himself and promote his blog and a small network of elitist friends. All those in Silicon Valley are self centered elitist marketers in a vicious network of marketing and mass abuse of social networks, promoting each others work mutually. The reason scoble has 5000 friends is to publicise himself and raise his profile.

Steve Jobs does NOT have to worry about losing his job to the folks from Google.

I didn’t see ONE feature that will get normal people to switch from the iPhone. This comes across like something developers developed for other developers without thought of how they were going to build a movement.

How do we know this developer API is uninspired? They are bribing developers with $10 million in prize money.

Compare to the iPhone. Steve Jobs treats developers like crap. Doesn’t give them an SDK...

...But, here’s why Android is getting received with a yawn from me

Sweeping, emotive, strongly yet invaildy bias and over confident arrogant postings.

Michael Arrington is another story all together...

TechCrunch and Business 2.0 never managed to merge, but editor Michael Arrington has snapped up former B2 editor-at-large Erick Schonfeld. (This explains why Schonfeld recently revived his dormant blog to cover the TechCrunch40 conference.) Opinionated, arrogant, and whip-smart, Schonfeld is the perfect match for Arrington. We're looking forward to the fireworks at TechCrunch edit meetings -- to which Schonfeld will be dialing in remotely from Brooklyn

Michael Arrington is a self-centered, bow-down-before-me, arrogant (rhymes with Arrington!), over-hyped, Web 2.0 child (both figuratively and mentally).

His posts and TechCrunch Admim's comments just sound rude, arrogant and overbearing. He might well be right and Sam's original post wasn't true, but deleting it and coming across as an arrogant bully isn't the way of persuading people. Rather reminds me of the arrogance of old world publishers such as Robert Maxwell or the megalomania of Citizen Kane.

Very High School 2.0?

Let me preface this post by saying that I’ve thought that Michael Arrington has been a huge arrogant jerk, ever since I saw him at Bloggercon. When he was on the stage, there, I realized that this guy had let his big A-List blogger status go to his head, and he thought that he was better than anybody else in the room… or anybody else that blogs, for that matter.

TC post bashing Sam Sethi is just typical of Mike Arrogant. Some people seem to love grudges.

Does this have a negative impact on the industry?
Is a Google Reader with 5000 feeds a day to read all you need to become a "New Media Expert"?

What i think the people in this 'industry' need to understand is that this isn't popular culture, if you go and ask someone in the street what a folksonomy is I'd guess not very many people would know.

Another thing that I find ammusing is the 'hatred' for main stream media.  What people don't understand is blogs like TechCrunch, GigaOM, etc are becoming the mainstream media.

...and what they say goes. Do the FT have public quarrels in the financial industry?

Scoble comments on other people’s work (researchers, entrepreneurs, etc.) just as Valleywag comments on your work.

Look what Snobyy Scobe to say here!

Today I learned that I actually work for Valleywag, but don’t get paid.

Hey, Valleywag is the Android of journalism!

For those of you who don’t get that: I do the work, Paul Boutin points out my messes. He Nick Denton keeps the advertising revenues. Sorta like working for Google on an open source cell phone project.

Works just like Android except replace “that loser Scoble” with “developers.” Oh, well, at least with Android they are handing out $10 million in prize money. With Valleywag my friends and coworkers call and email to point out what a loser I am. Hey!

Oh, and Ryan Block at Engadget told me he had his hands on Android.

Damn, double loser!

To this.

Why does he also always mention his "friends", do you think he actually has any real friends?
Some interesting comments at Valleywag...

The only people that talk to Scoble are Microsoft droogs. The droogs talk to Scoble and Scoble talks only to himself.

Well the Web 2.0 droogs too, and any droog within a 40 mile radius of the Valley. East Coast firmwareheads need not apply.

So Robert's been at it again.

This time apparently he was working with Plaxo to import his 5,000 contacts into his Outlook Address Book.

However this is against the Facebook Terms of Service and Privacy Policy so his account was automatically deleted.

So he blogged about it and spun it saying how unfair it was that he was banned for importing his "OWN" data.  So of course he was allowed back in.

Loren Feldman has a great post about it here.

Robert Scoble is at it again this time he was caught out when he was importing his 5,000 Facebook's contacts.  Facebook of course caught him and he then spun the story to his advantage saying that this was unfair as Facebook was hoarding his data and not allowing him to keep it.

However he clearly broke the terms of service and privacy policy.

Loren Feldman has a great video about this matter.
