2nd Feburary 2007 iVirtua has hit 1000 members, with over 26,000 contributions, being the most active ever the last 2 weeks.

Our target for the end of this year is up to 10,000 members as part of the iVirtua Community plans.

We aim to fulfil the mission statement better than it is now; the community will also take elements of an invite only syetem and a premium subscription system alnog with marketing campains this year.

iVirtua last year gained a dedicated server which has also been speeded up with software and hardware upgrades in the least week, along with full site functionality in IE5,6 and 7, Opera 9, Firefox 1 and 2, and other browsers.

We have also recently finalised all features of iVirtua 4.1 complete with a download manager.

Before iVirtua 3.0 see iVirtua History (Invision and other systems)
Mar 26, 2006 - 100th Member Joins
April - iVirtua Purchases a Server in Utah, USA. iVirtua still uses is today for testing and development.
iVirtua as we know it, iVirtua 3.0 Opens! April 4th Developers Release Enhanced iVirtua Edition. iVirtua Live Chat Introduced
May - iVirtua reaches 200 members
June - June 03, 2006 iVirtua Loyalty Points introduced, and the forums sytling was improved
July - iVirtua changed its main sites, and gets a redesign
August - iVirtua's current Blue Redesign
September - iVirtua 4.0 Introduced over the next 2 months, with its trackers pushing all of the features.
October - iVirtua invests in SEO and speed optimisation, then iVirtua Purchases its best Dedicated Server yet, in London, UK, Over 500 users on iVirtua at one time.
November - iVirtua Reaches over 800 members. iVirtua introduces a new caching system.
December - iVirtua Reaches over 900 members, and well over 25,000 posts.

Back in March i remember conversations with Will and plans which meant us getting targets of say, 100 members by August, or 500 Members by the end of the year. We would look up to proboards sites with 50 odd members, but we learnt from our mistakes.

Me and Will new nothing of PHP and MySQL back then, infact we hadn't even heard of it. Now, we own a dedicated server and have exceeded our own targets, which seemed at the time, when they were suggested tounge-in-cheek, almost impossible.

We did it, together, and our hardcore group of staff have stuck buy me, and the only founder staff member I must congratulate, Jakob, who has been here almost every day without fail. Then Lucas joined us back in September who is another one of our elite staff, along with other strong supporters who we met, Jose (who we will be seeing back, through the Podcast in 2007), our best mod yet (who actually does his Job), Jonathan, and last buy buy no means least, or development team our in India and Bangladesh respectively, the Mindurge team with Sikander, Salim, and Anthony in London.

I hope we will also see a lot more of Wil in 2007 who with a lot of college work to hold down, he count spend much if any time over here, lets hope we can give him a fresh start and get him back, because I was remembering back to March, when we had those "impossible" aspirations... Well I'm ready to make more of the same.

We're at 3.22 users a day for instance... lets pull together and achieve that... and more!

With Lucas paying for the server, Jose on a 2 weekly podcast later in the year, me and Will on the media team, sikander on the press team with me and will copywriting, and a wealth of developers, industry professioanls and gamers behind us, the entire team pushing the site, we can go big... and Soon.
Just a note: Will posted a similar post about the news of 1000 members; although I have said a little more about the future of iVirtua here

the bots are there for search reasons.

If someone searchs for something an iVirtua topic, report, article, download will pop up on that search engine. It allows us to be seen all over the web.
