I'm a mac user and I've noticed a decline in MS support for mac, although we get the usual, almost PR stunt as with the release of the Mac keyboard from Microsoft. We all are reliant on some Microsoft software to run to full lpotential out macs,

At the time, we all missed IE, although with Firefox, Opera and Firefox, im sure we wouldn't.

Another observation, most if not all(!) crashes on my mac are related to Microsoft products; like Office 2004

Windows Media player for mac is hardly any competition to iTunes, either. Office 2004 is now quite outdated fr mac, and the Messenger 5 is like Messenger 5 for windows, with more compatibility from 3rd party or web based products!

Will Microsoft dump apple support? Rumours have been rife or a while, as we ca see at "The Inquirer" http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=4485 in 2002

Has anyone else noticed a decline in Apple support? Do we actually care?

i admit the support has declined, but not going away. i thought Messager was up to 6.0.2 or something?

Microsoft has already announced that Office 2008 will be out the second half of this year, with Mac only stuff with it as well.

The Mactopia newsletter is repeatedly marked as junk in my Hotmail account. Which might be a telling indication of what MS thinks of its own support for the Mac.

Windows Media player for mac and MSN for mac are released half heatredly amost "because they have too" in a half hearted manner. But look at iTunes for PC.

It's interesting to note that Office is only available on the mac because it has to be released. After the Microsoft vs Apple Look and Feel lawsuit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Computer,_Inc._v._Microsoft_Corp.), Apple agreed to make Internet Explorer the default browser over Netscape, and Microsoft agreed to continue developing Office and other software (including office) for the Mac for the next 5 years, and purchase $150 million of non-voting Apple stock.
