I was just wondering if any of you do any martial arts? I personally do Tae Kwon Do and Nunchuku. (black belt & Green belt). Also formal in some panther style kung fu and a little wing chung gung fu.
And i think martial arts really do give people a higher perspective on life. It gives them disipline, wisdom and personally i believe it makes them wise about the world. Made me look at things in a whole different prospective. Even though ive stopped them now i still train, i stopped because i wanted to put my company into plan and having the disipline i learned from these skills i think its easier to apply yourself to everday things and also much easier to take orders.

Yeah I used to do Kung Fu (green belt) and Samurai swordfighting (brown). I agree entirely with your comments. Many people assume that martial arts are all about violence, when, in fact, they are more about discipline - as you have already stated.

No it wasn't Kendo. Kendo has a slightly different style. This was a mix of Chanbara, and Goshindo (although only wooden swords were used for this). Padded and wooden weaponry were used for training and sparring. Goshindo encompasses the traditional Samurai style of fighting, Chanbara is a sport version (i.e. for competitions).

You've obviously never tried netball  .

One of our PE teachers (who was really my Business Studies teacher, but was semi-qualified or whatever) was hassled into letting us play netball by the girls in my group. After 5 minutes, he concluded that it was "a pretty gay sport" and let us play football instead.

Netball is similar to basketball except movement is restricted, and there is no backboard on the net. The ball isn't bounced at all. Volleyball is completely different, as is tennis.

Chi is your inner energy. Tai Chi is using the opposite force against itself.
Chi is your living energy. Although when training i do use "my inner" energy i just channel my strength.

Generally to use your inner energy it means to do a martial art and gain disipline.
