Everytime I put in my thumb drive, Media Player wants to sync and really that's the last thing I want to do you know? Is there a permanent way to stop it or is there no way out of it?
Windows Media Player always prompts "How do you want to sync this device?" when you insert a USB flash drive. The easiest way around this is:
1. Click the arrow below the Sync in Windows Media Player tab, point to the device, and then click Advanced Options.
2. The properties dialog box for your device is displayed. In the Sync tab, clear the Start sync when device connects check box.
The next time you want to sync, connect the device to your computer, click the Sync tab, and then click Start Sync.
The only other thing I can suggest to change your "Auto Play" feature on your usb device. Plug your usb flash drive and head over to "my computer". Find your USB flash drive and right click to "properties". Select the "auto play" tab and select "take no action" or play around with the options.
