The organisers of GDC 2008 have announced that Microsoft's JohnSchappert will be presenting a keynote at the upcoming conference.
Schappert, corporate VP of Live, software and services for theinteractive entertainment business at Microsoft, was also a formerexecutive VP for EA and founder of Tiburon Entertainment. He joinedMicrosoft in August 2007.
His keynote is entitled "A Future Wide Open: Unleashing the CreativeCommunity," and marks the first time that Microsoft has given a keynoteaddress since 2005.
"The Game Developers Conference is the premiere stage for industryleaders to present their strategies for advancing the state of the artof games," said Jamil Moledina, executive director of the GameDevelopers Conference.
"Given John's experience and the Microsoft game development teambehind him, we are confident that our attendees will not want to missthis glimpse into the future of how games will be made."
