The PC, when my father tried to use it in the evening today, was sitting idle. Like, everything was one, but the monitor was on idle. No matter how many times we clicked, the monitor just sat on idle.
So, we cold-booted the PC (held down the PWR button in the front) and then shut off the monitor. A couple seconds later, we turned it on and it loaded fine.
What do you think was wrong with the monitor? This is the first time this has happened. Is the monitor dying or is the graphics dying? :(
Anyone have any idea on what is happening?

Could be a setting as Josh as said, sometimes putting it in sleep mode they just don?t like to wake up again and a reboot is needed, look at settings, if it does it again and the vid card as a cooling fan installed then see if its blocked up with dust.
some PC,s will lock up from lack of power managment support from monitor or GPU if PC gose to standby or shuts off the monitor. My advice is disable any and all power managment and see if it still dose it.
AH ive had this problem, Its a default action, If you turned your pc off and left your monitor on then you just turned your pc on and tryed to turn the monitor on if you leave it for a while it will Go on standby as same time as idle, this will then confuse it and will not turn on unless power (Mains) has been turned off from the wall.
