Look around, I use Areo Xp, an official "skin" is actually really good, its a glass effect skin for Windows XP, its called Royale and its official, I think its amazing, its bug free! Luna is the exising XP skin, looking back, it looks so old!
Its the Windows Media center Edition skin, and was leaked out of Microsoft and onto the web. The theme appears to have come out of a beta version of Media Center 2005.
The theme is not a substantially different incarnation of the existing of Luna, the current default theme for Windows XP. You can see the main changes in the screenshots below; one could describe it as being a 'glass mod' of Luna.
As Microsoft knows, it is very hard to please everyone when it comes to themes. However, I think they can be reasonably certain that most people will like this new version of Luna.
Microsoft New Zealand is making available some free desktop backgrounds for use on your computer. Includes the New Zealand version of Bliss; the world-famous directional sign in Bluff; and the theme pack for Royale. Check back each month as we add more!
I think hes using something based on AeroXp above, You can also get yout XP to look like Windows Vista on XP, but its a bit buggy.
The Aero XP skin is available here: http://www.wincustomize.com/index.aspx You can get loads of skings at http://www.wincustomize.com and cursors etc.
http://www.aqua-soft.org/ is also where you can get Aero XP and the Vista Skins! Enjoy
Im using Windows Blinds right now which seems ok (its only a trial version tho -- 60 days). I'm not sure how to make the skin permanent - Windows Blinds needs to be loaded for the skin. Is there any way that i can make the skin a permanent feature - i.e. can i apply my own skin independantly, without the use of software like DesktopX or Windows Blinds? is there any way to apply the skin like you would apply a Desktop Theme, i.e.: through Right-Click > Properties (on the Desktop)
Stupid me... I meant that the picture on my desktop looks better than the picture that I posted - because the photo on my desktop is a larger version of that one (I couldn't find the link to where I originally got my wallpaper.

Anyways I think pictures don't look much better if they are just big, I have a space shot in 3500 x 2000 something. Yet mine looks better, I like the feeling of the unlimited and the peace that lies in the picture...
This is my new one. I took the photo from a place called Coogee bay in Sydney. Despite the fact that it was taken in the middle of winter, I had to adjust the contrast slightly because it was too sunny.
