I will be ordering the parts tomorrow and will be posting how well it overclocks too. I am expecting this to overclock pretty well.

Looks good, but I have one question. You already have an AMD64 PC, so why are you building a Sempron-based one? Is it so that you can get a lead on me and Myrdaal in Folding@Home? :P

Another note, be careful with those Ballistix. Crucial seems to have a high failure rate w/ the Ballistix lately. And I am assuming that you motherboard is powered by NVIDIA's integrated graphics?

Looks pretty good. But, I do question why you're going with sempron. Whether or not you already have a 64 bit comp, I wouldn't go less then 64 bit at this point.

Bah, Drew and I have have been fighting over 3rd place now for awhile. With that new system he'll definetly bump me unless I get my lappy online when it comes in.
Which doesn't make much sense for me to begin with since as far as I know, I'm still leaving on the 12th.
I made a few changes. The most notable being the change to Corsair VS from the Ballistix. This saved me about $45. The Ballistix wouldn't give me anything more then bragging rights anyway. I also switched the case to an Antec Super Lanboy from the CM Centurion 5.
With the changes made (even though the Lanboy is more expensive) I saved close to $100. This is mainly due to shipping costs and RAM. Originally I was going to buy everything from Newegg, but it would have been around $60 in shipping. So I bought most of my components at ZipZoomFly which offers free 2nd day shipping on most products. eWiz also had free shipping on the Super Lanboy.
I ordered the parts earlier today. In fact, I just got an email from eWiz telling me that my Lanboy has already been shipped.

The Sempron is 64-bit. It's essentially an Athlon64, differentiated by the lower L2 cache and different PR rating. Also, the fact that this is socket 754 as apposed to 939 (though, there are 754 A64's IIRC).

are you just going to use the onboard GFX or are you going to just put in a card later. tell us how well it performs when you get it.
I'm going to be using onboard. Also, I will be sure to post screenshots of the build, benchmarks, how well it overclocks, etc.

Why are you building such a low end system when you already have an Athlon64 machine running? At the moment, 64-bit doesn't really give anything but bragging rights unless you're using WinXP64 or some 64-bit Linux distrobution to use it to its capabilities. The 64-bit label on your sempron doesn't add any performance unless you are running an operating system built for 64-bit use.
Because he feels like it DUH! Why is every one on his @$$ because he's not buying a top of the line compy, he said why he wants it, to see how well it overclocks ect... im sure i dont know all the other reasons but why do you guys care so much GOSH!

Because he feels like it? That would seem apparent. Whats with the \"DUH!\" s**t anyway? No one is \"on his a.ss\". All we asked is his reasons for not building a system above the specification of his current setup, fool.
Btw: Call your mom if you need help wiping your a.ss, instead of getting all irritated and posting complete crap on here.

Sounds good. Should be pretty fun building it... and... to be fair, it's nice to have a second computer around. I use my secondary as a rendering machine for when I need to use my desktop. Though, admittedly, both my desktops have become render computers as I do most stuff on my lappy.

I fail to comprehend why people are so determined to use 64-bit. Eventually, the world will go that route. In the meantime, 32-bit has quite a life left for it, particularly if the industry goes that route. I'd much rather have a 2.0 GHz Core Duo than a 2.0 GHz Turion 64.
