Shamrock, a member of the NeoGAF community has posted a letter he received from Kerry Davis, a software engineer with Valve software. In the e-mail, Davis confirms an update and new maps for both the PC and 360 versions of Team Fortress 2.
While no details were given as to exactly how many maps we can expect, Davis did confirm that "new maps will likely be released individually on the PC as they're ready, and then we'll offer them as a single pack on the 360. [...] We're currently testing a new map that's extremely fun, and we can't wait for our customers to try it out."

On the patching side of things, Davis spoke of fixes for "several game-play exploits, improving bandwidth usage, improving stats reporting, and fixing some menu bugs." Davis added, "Most of the fixes that are in this update are in response to forum posts from both the PC and 360, and from direct in-game feedback from players." As Shamrock identified himself as a 360 gamer, it is unclear if that update is headed for the PC as well or if it's a 360 update only.
The Orange Box for the PS3 was not mentioned in Davis' e-mail
