Well after Christmas I should have enough money to upgrade my computer. I want to replace my 9800 Pro and Asus A8V. Right now I'm looking at getting a BFG 7800 GT OC and an SLI motherboard so I can eventually add another GT. When the ATI alternatives are out in full force I'll have a look at those but for now I want some help picking an SLI motherboard. I've narrowed my choice down to three:
I do some overclocking but nothing rigorous and I also don't mind having to do some tweaking to get it working right. Right now I'm looking at the MSI as it's the only mobo available in a store near me so I'd have to order the other two from an online site and pay shipping and handling. However if there's a good reason to go with the DFI or Epox instead I'm all ears.
Don't even waste your money on an SLI motherboard. You would be much better off just saving your money and when the time comes to upgrade just sell your 7800 GT and buy a much faster next gen card.
I would choose the Epox if I were you. It overclocks very well.

If I went with a non-SLI mobo which would you recommend?

No, go with a SLI mobo. When you need better graphics, add another 7800GT for what, $200 by that time. It'll be worth it.
Otherwise, if you want SLI-ready, buy the DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D, which comes with 2 PCI-Express slots, but if you do a specific pencil trick, you can upgrade it to the SLI version.

No, it definitely will not. If he adds another 7800GT by the time the next gen cards come out it would of been a waste of money. A next gen card will perform better then both of the 7800GT's in SLI. The next-gen card will also have newer features. It will also probably be cheaper then the total he probably would've spent just to go SLI.
The best choice would be to just get the 7800GT with a non-SLI motherboard and when the time comes to upgrade sell the 7800GT and buy a new single card. An SLI motherboard should not be bought for future-proofing.
