here is a great Canadian store i have some friends in canada who order from them

http://ncix.com/

and i think the geforce 6100 boards cost about the same on both sockets its just that A64 3000+ will bump the price up a bit.

That is why I wanted a Sempron 64 >_>. Also, are there any motherboards that have NForce 4?

Yes, there is. However, there are none with onboard video. You don't have to get one with onboard video. Sometimes it is a good idea though. That way you can have the system up and running then just buy a better video card later.

Those components KoolDrew posted will make a fine gaming machine that is very upgradable in the future.

Personally, I have never had any problems with TigerDirect, but the prices are about the same as Newegg, so they are an option as well.

There are a number of good choices for socket 939. Since you are on a budget I would suggest the ASRock 939Dual-SATA2. It is around $68 (USD) last time I checked. It is a great overclocker, has both AGP and PCI-E and there will be a Socket M2 add-on card released.

Now that I think about it that is probably the perfect option for you. It is definitely upgradable with the Socket M2 add-on card being released and it is really cheap.

Er, a stupid question, but I know how the motherboard connects into the I/O slots at the back of the case, how does it connect to the ones at the front?

You will have to connect the wires in the case for the front ports into the corresponding areas in your motherboard.

I found the ASRock 939NF4G-SATA2 for 10$ more, so I think I'll opt for it.

My motherboard has connectors on it for USB and Firewire. A cable plugs into these and goes to the ports on the front of the case. Just about every motherboard works like this.

That's a completely different board. it also has onboard video. A 6100 just like the Biostar I recommended.

What has to be connected in the front depends on the case. In the back just fit the the motherboard into the IO panel. Most likely you will ahev to use the one supplied with your motherboard as the one supplied with your case may not fit correctly.
