First post here, i found this out quite a while ago and decided to share it here. Hopefully it hasn't been posted before *did a 3 minute search*
Taken from the past threads, there has been 2 way ways to dodge the birds, one of them is flying up while holding strafe. This is time consuming since it takes a while to fly up. Second way is kinda inefficient since you have to run around the poles and hard to do that if you are in the clearing.
Here is a third way that i find is more effective and does not waste your time:
If you agro-ed a bird, keep moving forward on your flying mount (without holding spacebar to go up) but this time spam strafe left and right back and forth, then it won't be able to hit u as it follows ur path and creating a distance between u and the bird. Your pathing should be zig zerging like this //////////////------> then after a few zig zerg, the bird will eventually lose agro.
I have tested this on an epic flying mount and it definitly works, normal flying might have trouble to start initaly but if you act faster and before the bird start hitting you, you should have no problem escaping away.
**PS, this is just a modification of escaping Pre-TBC mobs on ground. If you haven't notice, you can also use zig zerg pathing to run away from Pre-TBC mobs. Good for 1-40 runing away TBC mobs however, does not follow that pattern BUT flying ones do Image: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/images/smilies/banned.gif
