Gone are so many faces, old friends, that had been with the firm since, seemingly, the Late CretacianPeriod. They didn't move down with the company and so new people havebeen brought in. It's like a new Star Trek crew just moved in, withReggie still in charge, on the bridge, taking names etc...
Today,at a press conf in San Francisco, we got to say hello. Fronting the newteam is Cammie Dunaway, exec veep of s&m. The big news is; she'scharming. We like her lots.
Sporting a busted arm (snowboardingaccident) she said,
Quote:
"I'm working for the only company with a controlleryou can play with while undergoing major wrist surgery. I guess I'mliving Wiihab."
She's been at the Nintendo Koolaid, which is something we've all been glugging in recent times. "I saw itfrom Mister Iwata the very first time I spoke with him," she said. "Hetold me that our job is to share the joy of the gaming experience witheveryone." She said his enthusiasm is "authentic and genuine", which isright on the money for anyone who has met the great man.
Today,Nintendo showed us two of its biggest "bridge titles" that will sharethe joy of gaming with all those new gamers who bought Wiis. MarioSuper Sluggers is a character-based baseball game that will attempt tomove Wii Sporters further into the Nintendo world.
Likewise,Wii Fit looks like an amazing product that is going to break all kindsof records. I advise you pre-order and get practicing your push-ups.Someone, soon, is going to want to know your rating on that game.
Nintendo is showing off a bunch of other games, along with thirdparties, that will be revealed in the media next week (embargoes are inplace). Safe to say, another big year for Big N.
