Just one example... anyone else had problems with GAME? There are plenty of forum threads that seem to think go Gamestation and not GAME...

Last year for the 360 launch my store had 115 XBOX 360 units.
You could have a core unit.
If you wanted a premium you had to buy 5 full priced launch games. This was even if you had a pre-order.
Don't shop with them- they have 60% market share, and the hardcore are still a small part of that. Go to GameStation, they've got £110 black and white lite bundles for my town.
NSMB was one of the bundle games. That attitude is appauling- you should let Nintendo know about it (preferibly with some photographic evidence)
Damn, Game is better by far….and I hate saying this!!!!
The reason why I am saying this is because the other month I bought Wario Land 4 for the Gameboy Advance from Gamestation and it turned out to be a “big dirty copy of a game†which doesn’t work and when I went back to the shop to try and return it they then accused me of trying to rip them off with a copied game…..grr
Besides this Gamestation seems to be getting rid of their retro section so there is no reason to go in there now.
I've never had any agro with Game beyond their crap selection of games...
The fact that this is even an issue shows me that there must be some good Game stores out there. I've yet to find one though, any i've been to have been understocked, any stock there has been has virtually entirely consisted of games targeting the casual gamer. Fair enough, there are many casual players out there and they have a right to play games, but gamestation gets the balance correct in my opinion, with all the (dont mean to offend anyone who isnt casual and likes these games) FIFA and Need for Speed you could want, but also keeping a decent stock of some of the more bizzare and nishe games. I managed to get Steel Battalion from gamestation, i dont think i would find that in my local Game in a million years
My experience is that Gamestation is slightly better than Game. I like that they have retro stuff, magazines and the little toys (Mario Kart Radio Controlled!).
But generally I am not a big fan of any games shops - if you are a savvy gamer of any kind you will shop around online, pick it up second hand on eBay etc.
Saying that tho a local games store helped me out recently by selling me a Nintendo Wii... so maybe they aren't too bad
The only redeeming feature about Game is its occasional ridiculous offers. My favourite being a few years ago, trade in any 5 games, and get a full price game for £1. Sounds reasonable, you'd assume they'd make their money back. Not when you're buying the 1.99 games preowned in one shop and trading 5 of them in in another. Must have done that about 7-8 times? i'd just got my xbox so i could get about 4 times as many games with it as i expected <3
