I feel the Athlon 64 90nm Socket 939 CPU's are the best Overclockers. You seem to get more for your MHz than Intel CPU's.

Example:
A 800 MHz OC with a Prescott is like a 400 MHz OC with a Athlon 64.

Once Again, Athlon 64's Rock.

Yes the 90nm Winchester core rules for overclocking.

I have a handpicked P4 2.4B clocked at 3.6 on the stock, Intel provided heatsink.

Can anyone beat a 1.2Ghz increase?

Yup, Athlon 64's have a unique Overclocking ability.

And that's a great P4 overclock.

What motherboard did you have? I'm guessing an Abit IC7MAX3?

What is the Max CPU Vcore you can achieve with that mobo?

The EpoX is great. No OCing for me yet. But EpoX are supposedly the *best* OCers excluding Abit.

Now this is my experience with my Athlon 64 3200+. Like I said in my review, I feel that the Asus A8V-Deluxe is holding me back due to it's lack of higher VCore settings. It's max VCore setting is 1.70v.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.00 GHz (Stock Heatsink & Fan) no VCore increase. stock is 1.40v
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.10 GHz (Stock Heatsink & Fan) no VCore increase.
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.20 GHz (Stock Heatsink & Fan) no VCore increase.
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.30 GHz (Stock Heatsink & Fan) no VCore increase.
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.40 GHz (Performance Heatsink & Fan) VCore 1.45v
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.50 GHz (High Performance Heatsink & Fan) VCore 1.55v
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.60 GHz (High Performance Heatsink & Fan) VCore 1.65v
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.70 GHz (Very GOOD High Performance Heatsink & Fan) VCore 1.70v
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.80 GHz (Water Cooling. But you need to know how to OC a A64 very well) VCore 1.70v but needs more VCore for 100% stability.
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.90 GHz (Water Cooling. But you need to know how to OC a A64 very well)
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 3.00 GHz & over (You need a Phase Change Cooler. eg: Refrigerator)

Take Care,
