Ok, so this is pretty old news by now but I wanted to post about it since I think its quite the project. The guys at Team NexGen are working on overclocking a system to 8 Ghz using Liquid Nitrogen cooling and a very specially modified board.

Here's one of the LN2 coolers they may use. For the rest of the photos you'll have to head to their site . There is a small mountain of  photos there with most every detail you'd want.

And, here's a shot of the fully modified motherboard gettting some Dry Ice loving.

With this setup they are at 6.3 ghz right now and working on 8 Ghz. You can read their full project page to see what they are up to or offer your support.

Here's to hoping they make it. One things for sure, we'll be watching this overclock and we'll post back here when there are most results.

I might try this I'm still on a Pentium 4

Dry Ice is solid CO2, not LN2 which is liquid nitrogen.

With the board cooled by liquid nitrogen cooling system which is still in development stage in HVACR field, I'm sure it's going to be very expensive and only few people could afford it.
