i need help with overclocking i just had to bye a new system as i toteld my last mobo and i dont want to do it again.

i have AMD64 3500 socket 754  running at 2.06
Abit guru 3rd eye pro 2000 mhz hypertransport
10/100/1000 gigabit lan
2x raptor sata drives 200gb
1 gb kngston pro mem 2x 512
ATI Radion 256 X850

i was recomended this mobo by pc geek as a realy good mobo for over clocking and i must say my system runs a lot better than my old one and i had the fx55 so i am already pleased but i would like to get the most out of my system like we all do.
i am just a bit dubius as i cant aford to bye everything again.
any help from you all would be very very helpfull. :blink:

you got the 754 ? Ouch  that will hurt over clocking. Newcastle core right ? Great board but you wanted the 939 winchester  not 754.

with that CPU and mobo . Up the FSB at voltage and leave the HTT set to max. Max FSB is 222. Most get 215 .

umm he has Abit A8V 3rd eye guru with 3500+ AMD 64 bro. Where did FX come into this ?

His old Mobo was gigabyte 939 i think but it had problems. When he got the 754 he didnt realize that there was a difrence going from 754 to 939.

Well, just as PCGEEK stated, up the HTT (FSB) slowly & when you run into stability prob's then up the VCore a little.

Most likely it will be the Ram failing first, so take precaution & adjust the dividers as needed for the best OC/stability.

ye i had the fx but it went bang with my old mobo wich was a 939.

unforchinatly i have gone back a step insted of up but i cant complain at least i have a computer as with out it i would be lost.

i am hoping to get a 939 mobo again later this year but untill then i will have to do whith what i got. B)

I wouldn't be surprised. The FX-55 generates around 85-90W of heat.

That heat generated is quite low considering there are many more CPU's in the market generating a lot more that 100w.

ye i frid it the mobo the cpu and my mem.

there again i was useing stock heatsink and it was getting hot.
