Windows can come in handy, say for some piece of open source free software you might want to use, or for testing websites, and games, but yes, you can install Windows ZP in a Mac now if your that desperate, so you have no excuse Macs are better.
In My view Macintosh maybe better but I still think the PC is the way to go. first of all Microsoft has dominated the industry and its much easier to find PC games than ones that are on the macintosh. enough said.
Well you do bring up a good point there. I was once a mac user myself but that was back in the days before PCS really took hold. that was like 1986 when my first computer the macintosh classic2 was born. I still prefer the PC though the Macintosh is comming around.
My parents have just bought the mac, the PowerBook. I was unconvinced that it was a good choice until i actually used it. If you are looking for picture editing, music editing/creating, style and speed, then buy this! The only reason i do not own a mac is because i am a gamer, and i cannot play games on a mac.
The only faults with macs are that people complain about the only having one button, and only being able to place about 6 games, and not being able to have windows applications on it.
So what have Apple done? They made windows applications compatible with mac applications. They have created a two-button mac mouse, and they enabled you to have Windows OS running on a mac. Yes, this means you can have the performance of a mac in games. (Although, we should actually thank the hackers for this) Its a pity I just built my computer, or else I would be ordering one today.
I agree, you've got all the main points in there, but Security with Windows is an issue, as yes, you can install Windows with the next version of OSX (10.5) and you can also install Vista (Rip off of OSX, see post in Mac Section)
I also like the Mac book, black
As for OSX, once youve got round the 2 week learning curve, you never want to go back to windows, I guaruntee it.
I have never owned a Mac, although I have used them before - and I'm quite impressed with them. The design is certainly something that Apple can boast - every one of their products has been meticulously designed. They are rather costly though......
Well, the one thing people come back too, against Macs, is cost, well, the Mac Mini (New Intel Core Due, so it can dual boot Windows XP orVista) is just over £400.
The debate about Apple's Mac machines versus Windows has being going on for many years now. And it's still very hard to find people who dislike Macs but that's certainly not the case with people who use Windows machines. It's not though that they hate Microsoft's Windows because when things work they generally work well, but it's all the baggage that comes along with a Windows machines, slow, fiddly, badly designed and of course the ubiquitous reboots and unexplained crashes.
Blogs Are Where You Get The Good Facts These Days
One that has caught our eye over the last few months is SecurityAwareness which has done the most comprehensive study of Mac v Wintel (Windows software & Intel chips) i've ever seen.
The study is 16 pages long and finishes with a detailed spreadsheet projecting the cost savings of Mac over windows
Make sure you also read the comments (in particular on the results page) made by the general public on the blog
One comment that caught my eye on the results page (the comment is about the 10th one down) was from a couple of corporate IT guys who said their company has switched to Macs with incredible cost savings and productivity boosts, a nirvana for any company
You can read the full report here: http://securityawareness.blogspot.com...-to-mac-1-16.html
Thinking Of Buying a New Computer If you're thinking of buying a new computer or know anyone who hasn't got one and wants to get into computers then Mac is the way to go. Now, this is the interesting point - imagine if x\0f Windows users switch over to Mac over the next 2-8 years? This could easily propel Apple's profits in the stratosphere and hence its stock price.
Apple 3 Year Stock Chart I'm not a follower of of Apple the company and don't know therefore just how much of this kind of news and projections (ie, the growth projections for PC penetration) is in the stock price. What is in the stock price is twofold, firstly the incredible success of the iPod and secondly the realisation that Apple makes and is likely to continue to make happening products. And contrast this with Microsoft who in our view without its virtual monopoly on Operating Stems would be worth about 80\0ess than it's current value.
Bill Gates looks like he's stuck between a rock and a hard place with both Apple and Google. No wonder he's rumoured to be getting no sleep. Still, it serves Microsoft right for making products that nobody wants and forcing them by default on their user base. And this cannot be said of both Apple and Google who's customers want to use their offerings.
I don't really hate Mac's they are pretty cool But now I have so many pc games that It would be hard for me to switch. I would probably switch if I could but Im finding that I like the pc world alot better then the mac so hear i stay.
I've been thinking about getting a Mac, but have decided not too (yet). I like my PC at the moment, and I am too scared to buy a Mac in case I end up making my PC look crap.
Well, you could simply get a nice looking Mac Mini, to try it out first, for under £400, that can run BootCamp (Free) and therefore Windows XP, or as I'm doing Vista. Then that solves the games issue, and if your scared of OSX, which you shouldn't be (I'd be more scared of Windows), you can dual boot Windows. Its a 2 week learning curv, and If you have a Justified reason after 2 weeks, of why you want to change back, I will pay you £1000, guarunteed. Go for it.

Yeh my dad will probably be getting one because he has lots of photos which he likes to manage. I think he is looking at the G5 - the one with Intel chips i think.
