I'm still compiling a list of computer parts for my computer in February, and I've had this one question constantly popping up in my head: Which is better, 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM or 184-pin DDR SDRAM?
If you are using AM2 or Intel Conroe, you will need the 240 pin DDR2, I believe. For Socket 939, 184 pin RAM is used.
I haven't been updated with the new RAM (or processors) for a while, but I know DDR2 has higher latencies than DDR1, but it runs at higher frequencies as well. Last I checked, (3 months ago), DDR2 was slowly catching up with DDR1, but I am not sure as to its current performance.
