i need to find a program where i can have TOTAL network control over my forthcoming fileserver. i dont have a monitor (this is why) so i need to be able to control it from the network right to the DOS level.
If anyone knows of software that can do this i would be grateful....not to keen to drive an hour and a half to get a $10 monitor and i dont wanna buy a new 17\" trying to keeep it small :)
SSH using Putty or WinSCP3 or any other SSH program. I use SSH (Putty) to control my firewall (it's a system I built based around security and power-consumption (research?)), as it uses minimal components.. I run all sorts of things on it like folding@home, and everything is done through SSH.
and that will control as low as dos level? i need to be able to completly install windows and everything remotely from my laptop over the network of course the hardware and cds are in the unit its just the control i need
i would do that if i had a current monitor , i have kb and mouse, but no monitor all my computing is done on my laptopso i saw no need for a monitor and sold it awhile ago before i started
